Hailing from Okere Falls, and living 5 minutes away from the Kaituna River, Sam began kayaking at just 16 years old. Sam has explored rivers all over the world, following his passion for the awa & revolving sports. His love for the Kaituna always brought him home.

Sam enjoys taking his kids; Lilly, Mia & Maui, down the Kaituna. As well as concocting 100s of new business ventures.

In 2011 Sam established the humble Rotorua Rafting on the Kaituna River with the goal to provide the best white water rafting inNew Zealand and the world. Rotorua Rafting quickly became one of the biggest& highly accredited rafting companies in New Zealand. Sam continues to strive for greatness in the rafting industry and constantly works to improve the experience.

To date we are stoked with how we have been doing with so many people saying their Kaituna River rafting adventure has been the highlight of their holiday.

He is a passionate outdoorsman with loads of energy and a desire to share with you, the wonders of this place he calls home.
