1. 3D Trick Art Gallery

The 3D Trick Art gallery is one of the wackiest activities in Rotorua. Being the first trick art gallery in New Zealand, it boasts 50 artworks and 5 different themes. The gallery is open 7 days a week from 9.00am - 10.00pm. The paintings were created to show optical illusions and will encourage the whole clan to think of creative ways to take photos with the artwork.

2. Redwoods Tree Walk 

Walk amongst 100+ year old Californian Redwoods in the Whakarewarewa Forest. The Tree Walk is 700 metres long, spans across 28suspension bridges, 27 platforms and takes about 40 minutes to complete. With the height of the walkway ranging between 9-20 metres, you are presented with a unique, birds’ eye perspective of the forest below and treetops above. After dusk, you can experience Redwoods Nightlights, where the forest is filled with beautiful lanterns lighting up the trees. Perfect for those looking for things to do in Rotorua at night.

3. Rotorua Rafting 

Got some angsty teens in your mix? Chilling at the lake not cutting the mustard? What better way to get the family little out of their comfort zone than sending it over the worlds highest commercially rafted waterfall? Let this school holiday beat the rest by joining them on the ride of a life time with Rotorua Rafting!

We are proud to offer one of, if not, THE best experience in the Bay of Plenty. The Kaituna River is home of Tutea Falls; the infamous 7 meter waterfall & thrilling rapids through the gorge.

Suitable ages: To get the full Kaituna experience, waterfalls and all, you need to be 13+. We offer to walk those 10+ to below the waterfall so that they can enjoy the second half of the trip. This is a grade 3 section.

4. ZORB

Chuck the kids into a giant inflatable ball and send them off down Mt Ngongotaha with ZORB, the fun will have you laughing uncontrollably.

ZORB offers 4 different ball rolling tracks; zig-zag Sidewinder, smooth ‘n’ fast Straight Track, MEGA Track -the longest, fastest and steepest track, and Big Air, their latest thrill ride. Ride with water or without water, the choice is yours!

5. Rotorua Paddle Tours

7. Rotorua Heritage Farm

Visit some fury friends at the Rotorua HeritageFarm, once an agricultural and animal farm, transformed into an educational farm tour & café. The Farm Tour offers visitors a traditional animal farm tour experience where visitors can pet and feed sheep, cattle, deer, alpaca etc.
