We WON!!

It’s not often that the Rotorua Rafting Team scrub up & put on their Sunday best, but with an evening at the Rotorua Business Awards last weekend, that’s exactly what we did!

Held by the Rotorua Business Chamber annually, the Business Awards are an epic way of celebrating innovation and creativity by Rotorua businesses and shine a light on all the amazing businesses from all sectors in the area.

Amid a pool of 50 other awesome local companies, we were stoked to be nominated as finalists in 2 categories; Manaakitanga Tourism and Kaitiakitanga Environmental Sustainability & Climate Change. This is the 2nd time we have been finalists in the two categories, and two areas of our business that we really strive for excellence and take pride in those efforts.

Congrats to Skyline Rotorua for taking the win for Manaakitanga Tourism, while we’re stoked to take out the prize for Environmental Sustainability & Climate Change!

This isn’t the first time we have been recognised for our efforts. In 2021, we were voted the Best Experience in NewZealand, Best Experience in the South Pacific & and 2nd Best Experience in the World! This year, we were named in the Best of the Best list in Trip Advisors 2022 Travellers Choice Awards. All of this, as well as holding Trip Advisors Certificate of Excellence every year since 2014!

After a tough few years in the business sector (and a year of pivots) we’re so stoked to be able to wear this badge of being leaders in sustainable tourism…

To take away the win for Kaitiakitanga Environmental Sustainability & Climate Change is a true testament to the hard mahi done by the team at Rotorua Rafting and our new venture, Rotorua Ziplines.

Shout out to all the other finalists & winners of the night, it was an amazing evening out with the team.

We couldn’t have come this far without our manuhiri, community & team, this is all for you!

You can learn more about our sustainability & regenerative story here and see how we’ve made huge changes to our business here.

Catfish nets in Lake Rotoiti. Gorse and blackberry cleared from 12,000m² of farmland. Monday mornings picking up rubbish by the river. Native trees growing in our on-site nursery. This is what conservation looks like when it is woven into how a business works — not bolted on. Happy Conservation Week from the team at Rotorua Rafting.
